The Basin

We had a day out at The Basin in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.

We got the ferry from Palm Beach wharf as there are no cars allowed, it was an amazing day that started with a beautiful ferry ride.

We arrived to find a beautiful bay surrounded by a grassy area to sit and picnic. Our first sight was a huge lizard and then wallabies bouncing around! There are no shops at The Basin so make sure you take everything you need when you visit. We bbqed and picnicked and packed plenty of sun cream and drinks.

The kids loved playing in the water and Charlie and Timm went out snorkelling right out of the bay.

Though it is a tourist attraction it wasn’t really busy, there was a scouts group there camping and a few families but there was plenty of space and it was lovely to spend the day somewhere so free of shops and cars!

After the day at The Basin we then caught the ferry home, another brilliant day in Oz!
